Wildcard Report: Earl Thomas Comes Up Big in Surprising Upset

January 10th, 2011 in Weekly Report |

Earl Thomas played a crucial role in Seattle’s shocking upset over New Orleans, making plays all over the field.

Thomas had 8 tackles in the victory over the Saints, who entered the game as 11 point favorites.

Thomas had 8 tackles and was all over the field making plays, proving his deserving of being named Pro Bowl alternate a couple weeks ago.

Over in the Kansas City versus Baltimore game, Jamaal Charles carried the ball just 9 times (the fewest number of carries all year) but still managed 82 yards, an average of 9.1 yards-per-carry.

This high average was helped by a 41-yard TD run in the 1st quarter (video).

Kansas City would have clearly benefited from giving JC more carries, but the Chiefs played “catch up” all game and only managed a total of 25 yards of offense in the 2nd half.

JC also had 1 catch for 15 yards.

Teammate Derrick Johnson finished with 7 tackles.
