Skull Fracture Leaves Kindle’s Immediate Future NFL in Doubt

July 27th, 2010 in Player News | Tags:

Rookie linebacker Sergio Kindle fell down two flights of stairs on July 22 in Austin and suffered a fracture skull, which will force the Baltimore Ravens’ second-round pick to miss all of training camp.

Kindle remains in stable condition in Brackenridge Hospital in Austin.

Right now, Kindle is expected to make a full recovery, and head coach Jim Harbaugh has not ruled out Kindle playing at some point this season. However, the possibility of being placed on the PUP list and missing at least the first six weeks of the season remains open.

Kindle was expected to sign his rookie contract this week, but Ravens management plans to meet with the NFL management council to decide how to proceed, according to the Baltimore Sun. The Ravens might await an update Kindle’s health status before closing the deal.
