Shipley and Muckelroy Sign With Bengals

July 29th, 2010 in Player News | Tags: ,

Third-round pick Jordan Shipley signed a four-year deal on Tuesday worth $2.54 million with a $757,000 signing bonus. Fourth-round pick Roddrick Muckelroy also agreed to terms on a four-year deal worth $2.2 million with a $425,000 signing bonus on Tuesday.

Shipley’s signing all but guarantees him a spot on among a crowded wide receiver corp in Cincinnati. Terrell Owens also inked a deal with the Bengals this week, adding to the depth at that position.

The Bengals are likely to take six receivers among a group that includes Chad Ochocinco, Antonio Bryant, Andre Caldwell, Matt Jones, Maurice Purify, Freddie Brown and Owens.

Quan Cosby is also competing for a roster spot, but the addition of Owens to the squad greatly reduces the likelihood of this happening.

The question of who makes the Bengals final roster at the receiver position remains one of the most intriguing storyline this off-season.
